Car Parking

A new improved parking system has been introduced across all shopping centre car parks.

Highlights of the new system include:

• No increase in parking charges
• Removal of all barriers
• Advanced number plate recognition system
• Multiple payment options, including pay stations, online and parking apps
• Same parking arrangements across all four car parks
• Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week
• Free parking after 4pm Monday to Friday, for up to 3 hours on Saturday and all day Sunday

Want to park at EK? 

We have made some improvements to our car parks.  You may notice a few changes when visiting EK.  The entry/exit barriers have been removed and all our car parks are now monitored by Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Systems.  On entrance and exit, an ANPR camera will read your licence plate and log your vehicle on the system’s database, meaning you will no longer need to collect a yellow token when you drive into the car park.

How to pay?

All our car parks have pay stations.  You don’t have to do anything on arrival if you are paying at the machine.  Just remember your vehicle registration. Simply park and enjoy our facilities.  When you are ready to leave, visit one of our pay stations and enter your vehicle registration.  The system will recognise your license plate and charge you for the appropriate length of stay.  You can pay by cash, card or contactless.

Please note if paying by cash at machines in carparks at the Ice Rink, Princes Mall, and Left-hand side machine at The Odeon these machines require correct monies as no change will be given.

You also have the option of paying by phone.  If you prefer to pay by phone, please pay on arrival.  The car park tariff is displayed on the signage at the entrance to the car parks as well as on the signage in lift lobbies and adjacent to pay machines.  You can extend your duration as required using any of the below apps and the location code on the signage.

Blue Badge Parking

EK demonstrates its commitment to creating high quality parking facilities for disabled people and reducing abuse of accessible bays.  Disabled bays are for the exclusive use of customers with a blue badge, which must be displayed on the vehicle dashboard or facia panel enabling it to be clearly read through the front windscreen.  Parking in disabled bays without displaying a blue badge may result in a parking charge of £85. Please note tariff charges apply to Disabled Parking Bays.

Parent & Child Bays

There are designated Parent & Child car parking spaces in Car Parks 2 and 3 for the exclusive use of customers with children under the age of 12.  Parking in these bays without having young children in the vehicle may result in a parking charge of £85.
