If you're planning any cycling day trips or staycations with the family this summer; you can ensure your bikes are protected from theft by bringing them along to one of our FREE bike marking events between 10am-2pm on 29th June, 13th July, 27th July and 10th August.
Hosted by Police Scotland Lanarkshire Division and joined by colleagues from the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service and South Lanarkshire Council, visitors will be able to get their bikes security marked and registered onto the National Cycle Database free of charge as part of Police Scotland's Pedal Protect campaign.
The free bike marking kits, which usually cost over £20, help police identify the legitimate owner of bikes that have been stolen.
EK's local Community Police Officers will also have their own police bicycles on show at the event in Centre West, Scottish Fire & Rescue will be providing advice around road safety and South Lanarkshire Council will also be on hand to chat to the local community.
And, if you've cycled to the event; you'll be able to leave your bike with us for a few hours to enjoy a spot of shopping and lunch before you pedal home!
Find the bike marking events in Centre West (between Claire's and Yankee Candle) between 10am-2pm on 29th June, 13th July, 27th July and 10th August.
EK, East Kilbride will be providing a fortnightly prize to one lucky winner.
